Theme:

The exhibition will focus on the connections that individuals build through engaging in art. The subject matter for artworks will be open- which simply means  you can choose any subject you like as long as it's original. Original means  you aren't directly copying a tutors painting, another artist's work or a photo which you do not have permission to use. A painting can be done in a class or a workshop as long as the tutor has not worked on your painting at any point.

The exhibition will be open from  Thursday 5th to Tuesday 10th October

Viewer Engagement activities:

We want to give the public lots of different opportunities to make connections with you as the artists and some of the extras at the exhibition will be:

  • a video  playing on a screen showing snippets from different classes

  • a scannable QR code next to some paintings which is linked to a short video clip related to that painting- it could be you talking about what inspired you to paint the subject, it might be a timelapse of the painting being painted , it could be some photos of the reference material and preliminary sketches for the painting, maybe a short written statement about what the artists enjoys about using that medium or a flip through your sketchbook.

More information, including Conditions of Entry and Entry Forms, available closer to the date.
