Oil Painting with JOAN HUMBLE

These classes will cover the basics of good painting. These are tonal values, mixing and the use of colour, good composition, and different techniques of applying paint. These classes are suitable for students of all stages of learning and new students will be assisted to progress at their own level and pace.
Watercolour Painting
with LYNNE BROWN

Watercolour is a wonderfully transparent medium that can give you effects that no other medium can match. If you are new to watercolour painting, this course will introduce you to the materials and fundamental skills you need to enjoy painting in watercolour. If you have some experience, you will build on your skills and increase your repertoire of techniques and styles.
We will be exploring a range of subjects both close-up and in the wider landscape and trying out fun techniques and different approaches, from the classic to the contemporary.
Painting with Friends -All Media

Painting with Friends group meet together in a supportive environment to continue their art, encouraging and learning from each other. These groups are untutored. Participants share their experiences and enjoy the company of fellow artists in an informal atmosphere. Members are welcome to stay until 4.30pm if a key holder is available to lock up the studio.
Plein Air Painting
with MEL HILLS

6 weeks (over an 8 week period to allow for inclement weather)

Mel will be sketching and demonstrating using watercolour and sometimes pencil and ink, however students can use whatever medium they are most comfortable with. Mel will share her experience and guide you as you respond to the landscape allowing you to develop your own style.
Plein aire is about observational response and this is what Mel will be concentrating on. The adventure of being in the Now is what is so exciting about plein aire!
Contemporary Painting in Oil and Acrylic
with AMBER KOROLUK STEPHENSON

These classes will focus on contemporary oil and acrylic painting techniques, encourage students to explore a variety of painting styles, considering ways that colour relationships, texture, form and perspective can make bold, playful and visually dynamic works. Classes will cover basic tonal values, colour theory and mixing, and ways different types of paint brushes and painting methods can create different effects.
Contemporary Painting in Oil and Acrylic classes are suitable for students at all stages of learning, and new students will be assisted to progress at their own level and pace as they develop their own approaches to painting.

Reduction Linocut Printmaking

Cost: $210 ( some materials suplied- limit of 8 for this class)

These classes will cover an overview of Relief Printmaking and how to create a multi-colour print using the reduction print technique. It will be a step-by-step process from idea to final image discovering a different approach while creating an editioned print. These classes will be suitable for all stages of learning and new students will be assisted to progress at their own level and pace.
